Waar vindt PreSail plaats?
Voor de locatie van het festival is gekozen voor de unieke en voor Velsen zeer typerende Vissershaven van IJmuiden. PreSail IJmuiden vindt plaats op de Halkade, de Trawlerkade tot en met de vuurtoren, rond de kop van de haven en in de Vissershaven van IJmuiden. Doordeweeks is de haven een plek vol bedrijvigheid voor overslaghandel en visserij. In het weekend oefent de haven een grote aantrekkingskracht uit op wandelaars en fietsers, die aan de kades "bootjes komen kijken". Ook tijdens PreSail IJmuiden zal de bedrijvigheid gewoon doorgaan. Wij raden u dan ook sterk aan om met het openbaar vervoer te komen of gewoon lopend of met de fiets. Er is beperkt parkeerruimte beschikbaar in en rond het havengebied. Routebeschrijving
Met de auto
Vanuit zuidelijke richting A9/A22 of A208, noordelijke richting A9 (na de Velsertunnel) en vanuit Amsterdam langs Noordzeekanaal (Amsterdamse weg):
Neem afslag IJmuiden en volg borden IJmuiden. Rechts van u bevindt zich het Noordzeekanaal. U rijdt op de Stationsweg. Einde Stationsweg (Pontplein) bij verkeerslichten rechts afslaan. Volg borden Havens - Newcastle. U rijdt op de Kanaaldijk, rechts van u bevindt zich nog altijd het Noordzeekanaal. U blijft rechtdoor rijden en volgt de borden Havens - Zeehaven. Ga bij de eerste rotonde rechtdoor. Na de tweede rotonde neemt u de eerste rechts en dan is het festivalterrein (Trawlerkade) aan uw rechterhand. U vindt beperkt geschikte parkeerplaatsen rond het festivalterrein: in het Middenhavengebied en in de woonwijk aan uw linkerhand.
Met het openbaar vervoer
Vanuit Amsterdam en vanaf de NS-stations Haarlem, Driehuis en Beverwijk rijden er bussen naar het IJmuidense havengebied of naar de directe omgeving van het havengebied.
Amsterdam: buslijn 82 naar de Orionweg of Kromhoutstraat
Haarlem: buslijn 75 naar de Orionweg of Kromhoutstrtaat
Driehuis: buslijn 75 (vanaf Vondellaan) naar de Orionweg of Kromhoutstrtaat
Beverwijk: buslijn 74 naar de Vissershaven.
Op het plein 1945 kunt u van uit alle richtingen overstappen op lijn 74 richting IJmuiden Zeewijk.

Per boot
De Connexxion onderhoudt een supersnelle verbinding over het Noordzeekanaal tussen Amsterdam en IJmuiden. Vanaf het eindststation in IJmuiden overstappen op de bus en u bent zo in het havengebied.
The setting of the Harbour Festival
The festival site is set directly in the middle of the unique and characteristic fishing harbour in IJmuiden. All the activities of the Harbour Festival take place at the Trawlerkade, right up to the lighthouse and fishing harbour. On weekdays, the harbour is filled with the hustle and bustle of the fishing and transshipment industry. During the weekend pedestrians and cyclists are drawn to the harbour and marvel at all the boats and ships. You wouldn’t normally associate the harbour and its users with the world of the performing arts. So it is quite a challenge to confront these people with this world and to overcome the distance.
Getting there
By car
Coming South, direction A9 or A208, coming North direction A9 (after the Velsertunnel) and from Amsterdam along the Noordzeekanaal (Amsterdamse weg):
Take exit IJmuiden and follow the signs IJmuiden. You will find the Noordzeekanaal on your left hand side. This is the Stationsweg. Turn right at the traffic lights at the end of the Stationsweg (Pontplein). Follow the signs Haven-Engeland. This is the Kanaaldijk, the Noordzeekanaal is still on your left hand side. Keep going straight and follow the signs Haven – Zeehaven. Cross the railway and follow the signs IJmuiden aan Zee. Go straight ahead at the first roundabout. The festival site is situated at the first right after the second roundabout. Parking places can be found along the festival site: in the Middenhaven area and in the residential quarters on you left hand side.
Public transport
Busses drive regularly to the harbour area or to the direct vicinity of the harbour area from Amsterdam and from the railway stations in Haarlem, Driehuis and Beverwijk.
Amsterdam: bus 82 to stop Orionweg or Kromhoutstraat
Haarlem: bus 75 to stop Orionweg or Kromhoutstraat
